GCSE Music (8271) additional specification changes for 2022
Published: Tuesday 1 Oct 2019
Further to our specification changes on 6 September 2019, we’ve made a further change to the replacement study piece for Area of Study 4 in the GCSE Music specification. The change affects first teaching in September 2020 for exams in summer 2022.
Section 3.1.6 removed study piece:
- Prokofiev: Lieutenant Kije orchestral version – the following tracks:
- II Romance
- IV Troika.
Section 3.1.6 replacement study piece:
- Zoltán Kodály: Battle and Defeat of Napoleon and Intermezzo from Háry János.
We’ve made the change to ensure that all the replacement study pieces meet the requirements laid down in the specification.
The updated specification version 1.5 (18 September 2019) is available on our qualifications pages.
We flag any key changes on the web version of our specification in the subject content, where they are highlighted as ‘updated’ in an orange box. When referring to a specification, please always be sure to check our website for the latest version.
Revised sample assessment materials will be available in assessment resources during the spring term 2020.
