GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature Hub School Network - Autumn 2019
We are pleased to offer half-day regional meetings for teachers of GCSE English Language and English Literature again this term. Empowering students through vocabulary: Part 1 - Reading
This session will be the first in a series exploring the issue of the 'word gap' and the wider importance of vocabulary in students' development. With a specific focus on reading, we'll take a closer look at 19th century texts, Shakespeare and how performance can help to build students' confidence.
We'll take this further with a focus on writing in the spring and spoken language in the summer sessions to follow.
Our English Advocates will facilitate these meetings to encourage discussion and the sharing of ideas. Please note that these are not training events and they do not count as CPD. These events are for networking, keeping up to date and sharing best practice with fellow teachers.
Light refreshments will be available - lunches will not be provided.
Suitable for all teachers of AQA GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature.
Please note these meetings are suitable for post 16 teachers
