Course summary

This recorded AQA training event will provide feedback on the 2023 assessments (Components 1 and 3) from the GCSE Music specification. We have selected some key aspects of student performance across the assessment and will provide example responses to explain areas of improvement along with strengths. Together with peer conversation you will gain insight and potential classroom strategies for future cohorts. 

Please note, this course does not cover component 2.

  • Demonstrate increased knowledge of how students performed in the 2023 assessments in GCSE Music, with colleagues in your school or college
  • Explain areas of improvement demonstrated by students and discuss potential strategies which might help students to avoid these in the future
  • Identify key aspects of the assessments which are relevant to your planning for the effective learning and progression of your students
  • Identify opportunities for intervention with students in subsequent cohorts following the same specification
