Student performance on A-level Law Paper 2

We wanted to update you on our analysis of how students performed on A-level Law Paper 2.

Although we advised students to revise all topics and included the focus of one of the two 30-mark questions, we appreciate that many students expected us to include the focus of both 30-mark questions – especially in light of guidance we gave before we released the advance information.  

We told you that the fairest way to address this was for us to look at how students performed on this paper after we marked it.

We’ve analysed Paper 2, and we can confirm that students did find this paper more challenging – so the grade boundaries for this paper are lower to reflect this.

We hope this helps explain the action we’ve taken and offers reassurance.
