Maths skills briefings for A-level sciences

We know that some teachers are feeling daunted by the newmathematical requirements for new A-level Biology,Chemistryand Physics.So we’re really excited to be working with a group of schools from Camden in London to create maths skills briefings to help with teaching the specific maths skills. Each episode will fill about 15-30 minutes of a lesson and will include a PowerPoint presentation, Lesson plan and Worksheet for each skill. The worksheet answers can be found on e-AQA.

The new minimum requirements are as follows:

Biology:10% of marks acrossthe question papers will assess mathematical skills at higher tier GCSE level

Chemistry:20% of marks acrossthe question papers will assess mathematical skills at higher tier GCSE level

Physics:40% of marks acrossthe question papers will assess mathematical skills at higher tier GCSE level
