INVESTIGATION OF A LOCAL AREA (UNIT 1)

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will have	Evidence needed
shown knowledge of 1. a significant historical individual who came from their chosen area and the correct sequence of at least three events that happened within their lifetime	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
2. the main types of wildlife, plant life and climate within their chosen area	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
3. the main religions within their chosen area	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
4. the meaning of the main symbols on a map of their chosen area and how to use the key	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
5. the key changes within their chosen area over a period of time and the main reasons for those changes	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
demonstrated the ability to 6. describe the key teachings and beliefs of one religion within their chosen area	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
7. ask at least two questions, eg about religious figures, holy books, to find out more about another religion in their chosen area	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
