demonstrated the ability to

1. work safely with at least four named woodworking tools, ie coping saw, tenon saw, plane, chisel

2. measure and mark out a piece of wood to stated dimensions

3. cut a piece of wood to a measured length

4. cut a piece of wood to a measured depth

5. draw a given shape on to a piece of wood

6. cut out a given shape from a piece of wood

7. join pieces of wood in at least four different ways, ie joints, nails, screws, glue

8. describe at least four different methods of joining wood

9. explain why different types of joints are required

10. explain why wood is the best material for at least three different purposes, eg making a shelf, making a box

11. produce at least two artefacts follwing stated instructions, eg a box, a shelf unit, a game.
