Course summary

Following the positive response to our Spring sessions on maths anxiety, we're pleased to launch a two-part series dedicated to this important topic, with a particular focus on FE learners, though teachers and educators from all phases are welcome to attend.
In this Curriculum Connect session, we're joined by Sue Johnston-Wilder, Associate Professor at the University of Warwick and one of the UK's leading voices on maths anxiety. Sue will introduce the work of the Mathematical Resilience Network, explore how maths anxiety develops, and explain why it is not only common, but treatable.
This first session will focus on how to recognise the signs of maths anxiety and begin to measure its impact in the classroom. Sue will also share tools and models that can help teachers better understand and support anxious learners.

Attendance at both sessions (MATGCT22 and MATGCT23) is encouraged for maximum benefit.
