4. check and adjust the steering using a) rose joints b) track rods

5. check and adjust the accelerator cable

6. change one front and one rear wheel on a go kart, ie a) remove the wheel using appropriate tools b) remove the tyre from the rim c) fit the new tyre onto the rim and fit to the kart d) check the tyre pressure using a tyre pressure gauge in accordance with a given table

7. carry out an oil check on a go-kart

8. ensure that all pre-race safety checks are completed before racing a go-kart, ie a) tyre pressures/condition b) wheel nuts tightened c) brakes tested d) steering tested

9. check and adjust the seating position

10. carry out basic kart maintenance and safety checks in accordance with given checklist

11. drive a go-kart around a track in a safe and competent manner, observing race rules

shown knowledge of

12. at least three working parts of a go-kart

13. the purpose of at least three tools used to carry out basic go-kart maintenance

experienced

14. working as part of a team

15. taking part in a visit to a go-kart track.
