CREATING OIL PASTEL RESIST PICTURES

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will haveEvidence needed

demonstrated the ability to

1. cut a piece of card to size

2. select seven different colours of oil pastel to use

3. pressing hard with the oil pastels, begin to colour on the card

4. change the colour of the oil pastel as often as possible, to give a better finished piece, and cover the whole piece of paper, leaving no blank spaces

5. put a squirt of black acrylic paint into a paint tray, add a squirt of washing up liquid and mix

6. paint over the entire piece of card, going over the top of the pastel, ensuring that when complete, the card is completely black with no oil pastel showing

7. scratch a design into the black paint using a sharp implement such as a pencil or biro, until the oil pastel underneath starts to appear.
