In successfully completing this unit, the learner will haveEvidence needed

demonstrated the ability to

1. select a piece of white A4 paper and use painter's tape to tape it down around all the edges onto a flat surface

2. use a large paintbrush to completely cover the paper with water

3. start at the top of the paper and add stripes of color as follows: yellow, orange, red, rust, with a final thin line of black at the bottom

4. select a piece of A4 black card and use a cotton bud and poster paint to paint evenly spaced spots/a tingatinga pattern all over the card

5. print out or draw a template of an African animal onto A4 paper

6. roughly cut out the template and tape it onto the painted black card, then carefully cut around the template

7. stick the animal cutout onto the watercolour background using craft glue

8. wash the used pots and paintbrushes and tidy the paint and utensils away
