1. search on the internet for an image of a common species of plant, eg daisy, dandelion, white clover

2. write a description of the chosen plant

3. measure out a large area of playing field to sample

4. use a quadrat to carry out the technique of random sampling in the selected area

5. draw a table to record the number of the chosen plant found in each of 10 different quadrats

6. estimate the population size of the chosen plant in the measured area of playing field.
