1	the meaning of at least five different language techniques, eg adjectives, adverbs, alliteration, colloquialism, metaphors, personification or similes, eg by correctly matching words to definitions	Student completed work

3	identify, through highlighting, at least two language techniques used by the writer of the non-fiction text	Student completed work

5	use the Point, Evidence, Explain, Link (PEEL) technique with support to identify two literary techniques used in the text and explain their effect.	Student completed work
