In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
shown knowledge of
1	what a formicarium is	Summary sheet
2	what species of ant, from a given list, are suitable for a formicarium	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
demonstrated the ability to
3	build a formicarium	Summary sheet and/or photograph(s)
4	fill the formicarium with enough soil and appropriate food and water to sustain up to 10 ants for a week	Summary sheet
5	collect and introduce 10 ants from the same colony into the formicarium	Summary sheet
6	make daily observations on the changes in the formicarium over seven days	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
7	release the ants back into their colony at the end of the seven days.	Summary sheet
