1. choose a suitable letter or shape for their design

2. draw the letter or shape onto squared paper to make a template

3. identify the points on the shape outline where the holes for the string will be placed

4. use a bradawl safely to make holes through a piece of corrugated card using the drawn template

5. safely use a bodkin needle and string or wool to sew through the holes to create the design

6. produce a completed string art design
