THE CORRECT AND SAFE USE OF AN ELECTRIC POWERED SCROLL SAW

Level: Level Two

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will have	Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to 1. recognise the key component parts of an electric powered scroll saw	Summary sheet
2. carry out the key required safety checks before starting the machine	Summary sheet
3. cut a basic external shape out of plywood to a given drawing	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
4. cut a basic internal shape out of plywood to a given drawing	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
5. identify the main materials which are suitable for use on the electric powered scroll saw and the minimum and maximum thicknesses	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
6. minimise risk by employing the key appropriate health and safety techniques and utilising the appropriate protective equipment	Summary sheet
7. leave the electric powered scroll saw in a suitable state so that it will be safe for the next user	Summary sheet
demonstrated the ability to 8. the correct procedure if a blade snaps during use	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
9. at least six health and safety risks associated with using an electric powered scroll saw.	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
