1. read at least 35 high frequency or familiar words in simple texts, eg monosyllabic CVC words

2. use blending to decode at least four familiar and four unfamiliar words, eg use letter names and sounds to decode a CVC word

3. recall the main points in at least two simple texts

4. locate at least two points and two pieces of information in simple texts, eg find the name of a shop on a business card

5. make at least one simple inference and deduction, eg make a simple prediction to a question in a picture story.
