CREATING TRANCE MUSIC

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will haveEvidence needed

1. make suitable project settings, including the tempo and the key

3. create a short melodic hook onto a virtual synthesiser

4. choose a chord sequence to go with the melody and use it to create a synth pad part, a bass part and an arpeggiator synth part

5. incorporate suitable loops (samples) to add interest to the music

6. create a 64 bar progressive trance structure, including a 32 bar build-up, then a 16 bar break-down section, then a drop into the final 16 bar full-texture section

7. mix the volumes and pans of the tracks and adjust the mastering settings to achieve a good balance and overall level

8. mix-down (export) the music and burn it to CD.
