MAKING A BUG HOUSE

Level: Entry Level

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will have	Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to 1. carry out research into the size of the holes needed for bugs to pass through easily	Summary sheet
2. mark out the wood in preparation for cutting	Summary sheet
3. collect and check the saw is in a safe condition for use	Summary sheet
4. cut the wood using the saw	Summary sheet
5. drill a hole using the correct size drill bit	Summary sheet
6. nail the wooden pieces of the bug house together correctly to assemble the bug house	Summary sheet
7. attach a backplate to allow the bug house to be fixed, eg to a tree, a fence	Summary sheet
8. sand and apply an appropriate finish to the bug house	Summary sheet
experienced 9. following the safety rules associated with power tools.	Summary sheet
