In successfully completing this unit, the learner will haveEvidence needed

demonstrated the ability to

1. respond to kitchen health, safety and hygiene rules in preparation for a cooking activity, ie wash hands, put on an apron, tie hair back

2. give visual and auditory attention to a simple verbal description of a chosen recipe aided by a sequence of pictures with symbol supported text

3. give visual and auditory attention to a demonstration of the cooking equipment and utensils required for the activity

4. match pictures/symbols to real ingredients

5. measure the ingredients correctly as demonstrated in the picture/symbol instructions

6. follow the sequence of pictures/symbols in order to make the chosen product

7. carry out at least two simple cooking processes, eg pouring, mixing, spreading, chopping
