1. label the parts of a guitar ie head, neck, body, tuning pegs, nut, bridge, fretboard, scratchplate

2. memorise a rhyme to recall string names

3. label the names of the strings on a guitar (E - A - D - G - B - E)

4. play a simple melody or 'riff' using two or three strings

5. interpret chord diagrams

6. finger and play three open chords

7. understand how many beats are in a bar of 4/4 time

8. understand repeat markings in notation

9. read a chord chart and play a three chord song using a simple strumming pattern.
