1. take a basket of dirty clothes to the laundry room

2. sort the clothing into machine and handwashed items

3. check that the pockets are empty and sleeves and legs are pulled out

4. check that the washing machine is turned off

5. load the washing machine evenly, putting layers of big clothing followed by smaller items

6. check that the washing machine is not too full, to ensure even washing

7. locate the washing tablets

8. choose the correct number of tablets, ie two for a full load and one for half a load

9. put the washing tablets in the washing machine on top of the laundry

10. close the door

11. set the dial to the required setting

12. start the washing machine

13. wait for a moment until the washing machine starts
