APPLYING EMULSION PAINT TO A FLUSH PLASTER WALL

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will haveEvidence needed

demonstrated the ability to

1. select and use appropriate personal protective equipment when applying emulsion paint

2. protect the area surrounding the job with suitable sheeting

3. select the correct tools for the job, ie a 100mm paint brush, a 250 mm roller sleeve and handle, a paint pot and a roller tray

4. decant the paint from the tin to a roller tray, and to a pot for brush work, without spillage

5. cut in to the ceiling and adjacent walls neatly, using a suitable brush

6. apply paint evenly to walls with a roller without excessive orange peeling

7. apply a second coat of paint

8. clean the work and surrounding area on completion

9. clean tools and return them to storage.
