Build on teacher strengths

Literature 8702 offers a challenge but one that is supported and is accessible to students.

Both new specs build on teacher strengths and are founded on years of working with teachers for students. The specimen exam papers have shown AQA to meet the needs of the students at all levels.

Parents will be pleased to see that AQA are offering a range of challenges but are offering focused support to help their children through the demands of the new course.

Teachers will recognise that AQA is building on the feedback and entrusting us to develop suitable ways to teach a vibrant and exciting course.

Students can see that AQA is offering a challenge through interesting and thought provoking resources.

Range of options

While the texts for the GCSE Literature are no doubt challenging, there is a range of options that allow tailoring of the curriculum for students of all abilities. It will sit well alongside the English Language specification, and it’s immediately clear to see how the novels, plays and poetry can be delivered as part of a fluid, integrated programme of study. It has the potential to give staff and students an enriching and engaging Key Stage 4 experience, and is nowhere near as daunting as I’d initially feared!
