As part of increased security measures and to protect the integrity of exams, from this summer exam series and onwards, we’re introducing additional security steps when schools and colleges download question papers on the day of the exam.

What's new for summer 2024

On the day of the exam, if you need to download a question paper, the Centre Services Administrator will need to select a reason for the download.

This will then send an email to the Centre Services Administrator with a password to open the question paper. This will also trigger an email to any other Centre Services administrators at your school or college to tell them about this download request. If you don't already have a nominated second Centre Services administrator, we recommend that you set one up.

You can find instructions on how to add, change or remove Centre Service administrators.

If you have problems downloading the question paper from Centre Services, please contact us. We’ll need your Head of Centre to verify your request, so it’s important that all Heads of Centres know about this additional security measure to make sure they’re aware they may be called upon in the 60 minutes (90 minutes for OxfordAQA) before the morning and afternoon exams to support with this.

If a Head of Centre is not able to verify the request, we may not be able to share the question paper. We appreciate this might be frustrating where there is a genuine mistake with the security protocol and a Head of Centre is not available. We hope you can appreciate that our priority is protecting the integrity of exams, which is the fairest thing to do to so we can protect the interests of all learners.

If you have any questions about this or need any support please call us on 0800 197 7162.
