MATHEMATICS: PROPERTIES OF NUMBER (UNIT 1)

Level: Level Two

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will haveEvidence needed

demonstrated the ability to

1. put into order at least six whole numbers of up to seven digits, including positive and negative numbers

2. choose the appropriate operation, ie addition, subtraction, multiplication or division, to solve given whole number problems both with and without a calculator

3. solve at least two multi-step calculator problems using the BIDMAS (brackets, indices, division, multiplication, addition, subtraction) method

4. solve given problems using equivalent and mixed number fractions

5. solve a minimum of two problems involving fractions using each of the four operations both with and without a calculator

6. solve at least two problems involving decimals using each of the four operations both with and without a calculator and rounding answers where necessary.
