1. wear a lifejacket at all times when in or around a river boat on water

2. conduct self safely and sensibly when in or around a river boat on water

3. board the river boat safely

4. disembark safely from the river boat

5. follow safe working procedures as explained and laid out by the British River Authority in the Inland Waterways booklet on boat use

6. carry out correctly at least two emergency procedures, eg mooring, casting off

shown knowledge of

7. at least two things a boat user should know or be aware of, eg right of way priority, general river knowledge

experienced

8. being an active river boat crew member.
