These pages are an introduction to the examining and moderating process.
Getting started
Once you have accepted your contract, you’ll be provided with a checklist of tasks to complete in order to prepare you for marking or moderating. Whether you are new to the role, or a returning associate, you’ll need to complete these tasks as they are a regulatory requirement and are part of your contractual obligation. These include:
- Logging in to the Associate Extranet to check and/or update your personal details.
- Completing or updating any ‘conflict of interest’ centres.
- Registering for MHR iTrent – AQA’s online payment platform.
- Completing the AQA Compliance training module on our e-learning portal, Learning Space.
- Preparing for standardisation and marking.
Full details will be sent to you via email, so please do ensure you add AQA to your safe senders list.

We'll send you the relevant contact details before standardisation and marking starts and you’ll also find these details in the handbook for associates which can be found on the Associate Extranet.

Change your details
If you have registered with the Associate Extranet and you need to change your personal details, simply log onto the Extranet, click your name in the top right corner, then select ‘My Profile’ to edit.
