Assessment Graduate

Shape the future, starting with yours - join AQA as an Assessment Graduate and play a key role in crafting education for millions of learners. Over this two-year programme, you’ll rotate across core areas of our Assessment team, gaining hands-on experience in Assessment Design, Delivery, and Quality Assurance. From day one, you’ll be part of a passionate team working on projects that impact students across the UK.

What you’ll be doing

As an assessment graduate, you’ll rotate through several teams - Assessment Development, Assessment Management, Assessment Quality, and Standards & Awarding - gaining a deep understanding of how assessments are created, delivered, and evaluated.

Assessment Development

Learn the principles of educational assessment and contribute to the creation of high-quality, future-ready digital assessments.

Assessment Management

Manage the end-to-end content creation process, analyse performance data, and support improvements to question papers and marking.

Assessment Quality

Explore the metrics that uphold our assessment standards and take part in quality improvement projects that enhance reliability and consistency.

Standards & Awarding

Observe grade awarding meetings and learn how data and evidence are used to set fair grade boundaries, ensuring outcomes are robust and equitable.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a curious, analytical graduate who enjoys solving problems and working collaboratively. You’ll need to be a confident communicator and comfortable interpreting data. An undergraduate degree in any subject is required, along with a genuine interest in education and assessment.Other qualities we'd like to see include:

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges
  • Passion for education and fairness in assessment
