Risk Apprentice
Shape the future, starting with yours - Join AQA as a Risk Apprentice and help us maintain high standards across our operations. Over this two-year programme, you’ll work with our Risk and Compliance teams, learning about governance, regulation, and risk management. You will also work towards achieving the level 3 qualification: Compliance and Risk Officer.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Risk Apprentice, you’ll rotate through three core areas of the business - Risk Management, Compliance, and Assurance - gaining valuable insight into how we manage risk, uphold standards, and ensure quality across the organisation.
Risk Management
Produce business reports, conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses, and help draft policy documents and presentation materials. Build an understanding of risk management principles and support the implementation of AQA’s risk framework across the organisation.
Compliance
Learn how compliance operates within a regulated industry, assist with reviews of operational practices, and support regulatory reporting. Help manage the resolution of regulatory queries to ensure standards are met.
Assurance
Develop knowledge of internal controls, audit processes, and quality management. Support audit fieldwork and reporting, track audit actions, and contribute to organisation-wide quality initiatives.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, analytical individual with a strong sense of integrity and responsibility. An interest in compliance and governance is essential. To be eligible for this scheme, applicants must have at least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) including Maths and English. Other key qualities we'd like to see include:
- The ability to produce high-quality written and analytical work
- The ability quickly to understand and implement new requirements or processes

What you’ll get out of it
We offer a fully funded apprenticeship, a supportive team, and the chance to make a real impact in education. You’ll gain valuable experience, build confidence, and grow your career in a passionate organisation with a purpose.
Other benefits include:
- A salary of £23,500
- Mentoring from Senior Leadership
- A buddy to guide you through the programme
- Working on real, international projects that make an impact
