This course will provide practical advice for teachers across specifications to improve performance on explanation and reasoning questions. This course has been created in response to the recurring examiner feedback over the last few years series that students find communication questions more challenging.

Course description

Compare the similarities between key words (e.g. explain, reason, analyse...) to support students in attaining communication marks
Demonstrate embedding skills as a foundation at GCSE to develop throughout student’s maths journeys
Describe implemented strategies to support students in attaining communication marks across the papers, with opportunities to share good practice.

All teachers of GCSE and/or A-level Mathematics.
