Book an in-school training course

For in-school training:

Please note we require a minimum of five weeks’ notice for bookings. Although we endeavour to meet every request for in-school training, please be aware that we cannot guarantee every request will be fulfilled.

Once you have chosen the course please return the booking form and a member of our team will be in touch with you.

What happens next?

Once we receive your request form, we will then arrange the support you have requested for one of your preferred dates.

There are some times of the year where it can be more difficult for us to arrange In-school support – during the exam period or the start and end of term. The more notice and flexibility you can provide, the easier it will be to arrange your training.

If we can’t provide the support on the dates you have given, you will be contacted and asked to provide alternative dates.

We will match your requirements to the most suitable trainer and confirm the details to you in by email. The trainer will contact you directly to discuss your needs, detailed arrangements and the resources required.

Please organise a suitable room, necessary equipment and start gathering the information you are going to share with your trainer.

What do you need to do in advance?

One to two weeks before the event we will ask you to email us a list of those attending.

Resources are provided digitally. Please look out for an email which will be sent to the contact who completed the request form. These should be sent at least one week prior to the session to ensure that you have enough time to arrange printing.

Lastly, please ensure that you have a suitably equipped room that will accommodate the number of delegates. Your trainer will discuss with you what they need a few days beforehand – this is usually a computer or laptop, a large screen and any cables needed to connect them.

What do you need to do on the day of the visit?

Please ensure the room for the session is set up appropriately, including any equipment that the trainer has requested. Print the resources that we sent to you. We may have indicated on the email which are necessary for the session and which are for reference only and do not require printing.

All delegates are required to sign the attendance list sent out with the course materials. Additional delegates who are not on the printed list should add their name, email address and signature. The attendance list must be returned to the trainer at the end of the session as they are required to return it to AQA.

What happens after the visit?

After your In-school training, we ask each delegate to complete and return an evaluation form. This provides us valuable feedback when evaluating our training provision and helps our planning of future In-school support.

Payment

After we have received the course attendance list from the trainer, an invoice will be sent to the school or college that made the booking. The invoice will be adjusted to account for any change in delegate numbers. If you are not linked to an AQA or DfE registered school or college, or are part of a consortium or cluster, please provide the full name and work address of the person making the booking for billing purposes. Fees are payable within 30 days of the date of the invoice.

Additional costs apply to cover flights and accommodation for trainers travelling to events at schools or colleges outside the UK.

Cancellation

If you decide not to proceed with an in-school training session, it can be cancelled at no cost to yourselves provided that the session has not already been confirmed by the email sent from our events booking system. Please note that if you cancel a booking after confirmation there will be a 10% cancellation fee to cover our costs.

Terms and conditions

AQA:

  • cannot guarantee to meet requests made less than 5 weeks before the training date
  • isn’t responsible for associated costs incurred
  • in a school/college when booking a training session, or arising from cancellation/postponement
  • reserves the right to reschedule/cancel an event
  • reserves the right to issue an additional invoice due to an increase in delegate numbers
  • reserves the right to change presenters and organise an alternative trainer should there be a change in circumstances.

Health and safety

We are not responsible or liable for any health and safety issues arising from the delivery of the training to the extent that is permissible by law.
