1. simplify and manipulate given algebraic expressions on at least two occasions by collecting like terms, multiplying a single term over a bracket, taking out common factors, simplifying expressions involving sums, products and powers, including the laws of indices

2. use given standard mathematical formulae on at least two occasions

3. rearrange given formulae to change the subject on at least two occasions

4. interpret given simple expressions as functions with inputs and outputs on at least two occasions.
