demonstrated the ability to

1. write simple, generic word equations to show what happens when an acid and an alkali react together, an acid and a metal react together and when an acid and a carbonate react together

2. write the word equation that shows what happens when a named acid and a named metal react

3. collect the chemicals and apparatus needed to carry out a given set of method steps to measure the rate of reaction using the volume of gas produced when the named acid and metal react

4. record the data collected in a table

5. repeat the method steps with a higher concentration of the named acid

6. compare the difference in the rate of reaction.
