DESIGNING AND MAKING A MOSAIC

Level: Entry Level

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will have	Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to 1. chose a subject or pattern for a mosaic	Summary sheet
2. draw a design for a mosaic, showing the colours to be used and the arrangement of the ‘tiles’	Student completed work
3. choose the ‘tiles’ to be used, or prepare them, eg by cutting out shapes, or painting or spraying items to make ‘tiles’	Summary sheet
4. mark out a design onto a sturdy base	Summary sheet
5. put glue on the base	Summary sheet
6. place ‘tiles’ on the base to assemble a mosaic	Summary sheet
7. frame and display a mosaic	Student completed work and/or photograph(s)
experienced 8. researching ideas on subjects and patterns which could be used to create mosiacs.	Summary sheet
