In successfully completing this unit, the learner will haveEvidence needed

1. identify the equipment needed to make “stained glass” biscuits

2. identify, collect and weigh or measure the ingredients needed to make “stained glass” biscuits

3. preheat the oven to 190 degrees

4. combine the butter, caster sugar, plain flour, an egg, and vanilla essence until it forms a dough

5. roll the dough to the thickness of a £1 coin and cut into a shape of their choice

6. place the shaped dough onto a baking tray lined with baking parchment

7. cut out a small circular hole in the centre of each biscuit

8. fill each hole with one crushed, clear, hard-boiled sweet

9. bake the biscuits for eight minutes, or until light golden brown and firm

10. allow the biscuits to cool completely

11. work in a safe and hygienic manner

12. serve the “stained glass” biscuits in an appropriate manner
