demonstrated the ability to

1. choose a cake theme, eg Valentine’s day

2. sketch out ideas for the chosen theme, eg the decorations to add

3. draw a template of at least two ideas and/or models to scale using graph paper

4. collect the key tools and materials needed, eg baking equipment, cake stand, decorating tools

5. bake a cake of any flavour, following a recipe, that is complementary to their theme

6. make their own decorative icing or frosting

7. cover the cake with the decorative icing using a rotating cake stand

8. add any additional decorations to their cake

9. evaluate how they have found the process.
