PHASES OF THE MOON

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will haveEvidence needed

demonstrated the ability to

1. identify and describe the eight phases of the moon

2. create a physical or digital model demonstrating the relative positions of the Earth, Moon and Sun during each different lunar phase

3. explain that the phases of the moon are caused by the changing angles at which we view the moon's illuminated surface as it orbits Earth, rather than the Earth's shadow, using the model and/or illustration
