Good vibrations: The mathematics of sound waves

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will have	Evidence needed
shown knowledge of 1. the meanings of the terms amplitude and frequency and which property of sound each one represents, ie loudness, pitch	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
2. the structure of a sound wave	Student completed work
demonstrated the ability to 3. construct and label two different sound waves on grid paper, accurately drawing one wave to represent a high pitch and the other to represent a low pitch within the same measured timeframe	Student completed work
4. identify and label two distinct sections of a given waveform, ie one where the music is loud and a high amplitude, one where it is quiet and a low amplitude.	Student completed work
