In successfully completing this unit, the learner will haveEvidence needed

demonstrated the ability to

1. interpret at least three washing instructions on clothes labels

2. sort a pile of at least six items of clothing or household items into appropriate groups for washing, eg whites, colours, woollens

3. load a washing machine, select the appropriate programme and carry out the wash on at least two occasions

4. select and use the appropriate washing products for at least two loads of washing

5. identify at least three main parts of a washing machine, eg the drum, filter, powder dispenser

6. discuss at least three methods of drying clothes, eg tumble dry, drip dry, dry flat.
