demonstrated the ability to

1. connect a pair of turntables or CDJ's to a mixer, to an amplifier, to a pair of speakers

2. prepare a play list to be mixed using different mixing techniques

3. listen to and cue music, speeding and slowing the pitch control where necessary so that it can be mixed and played in time to an audience

4. utilise the equaliser filter functions when mixing

5. move the record backwards and forwards rhythmically to start a mix with the cross fader in the middle, ie baby scratch

6. implement fade cuts, stop cuts, chopping and spin backs when mixing

7. use the cross fader to assist the baby scratch to complete a chirp scratch

8. change music genres using a drop cut

9. connect a laptop to record from the mixer

10. record a 15 minute set to a laptop or computer

11. record at least three types of scratch over the set and apply effects to the scratches

12. utilise the equipment for more of its potential, ie drum patterns, feedback, bass lines

13. burn a CD of the completed mix

15. how tempo can affect mixing and how to effectively use a wide choice of music genres
