Unit Award Scheme
Digital Skills
Here you will find Unit Award Scheme (UAS) units in essential digital skills for life and work. Written with school-aged learners and adults in mind, these units include the skills needed to safely benefit from, participate in and contribute to the digital world of today and in the future.
You can choose to teach any of the units from the suite or amend them to meet bespoke student needs. Learners receive a certificate each time they complete a unit, providing tangible evidence of achievement. This is a proven way to help students engage in their learning, build confidence and take clear steps towards success.
The units are mapped against the Department for Education's essential digital skills framework, starting with Foundation Skills. This unit covers the basic skills typically needed by those not currently using digital technology or using it in limited ways. It provides learners with a stepping stone towards engagement, focusing on five categories that cover the essential digital skills for life and work. These are:
- Communicating
- Handling information and content
- Transacting
- Problem solving
- Being safe and legal online
