Planning an allotment site

Level: Level One

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will have	Evidence needed
shown knowledge of 1. at least six jobs that need to be completed on the allotment throughout the year	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
2. how to use tools safely when on the allotment	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
3. at least two different types of fertiliser they can use to help their plants grow	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
demonstrated the ability to 4. research fruit and vegetables which grow well next to each other	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
shown knowledge of 5. what is meant by ‘companion planting’	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
6. at least two types of weeds and how to remove weeds they may get on the allotment	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
demonstrated the ability to 7. plan an allotment site involving at least 12 different types of fruit and vegetable	Student completed work
8. include at least three examples of companion planting in the plan	Student completed work
9. recognise 10 different types of fruit and vegetable whilst growing and when harvested.	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
