Level: Level One

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will have	Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to 1. identify at least six public services	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
2. record the addresses and telephone numbers of three chosen local services	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
3. identify at least two benefits available whilst employed on a low income, eg Housing Benefit, Council Tax and Universal Credit	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
4. identify at least two places where advice on benefits can be gained, eg Citizens Advice Bureau, Job Centre	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
5. identify at least four benefits available to the unemployed	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
6. name three tasks a person can do to assist their Universal Credit claim when they become employed	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
shown knowledge of 7. the three key financial changes brought about by Universal Credit, ie a single household payment, a monthly payment in arrears, rent paid directly to the claimant	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
8. the main types of financial support available to them via the benefits system, including Universal Credit and Housing Benefit	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
9. how to choose and open a bank account suitable for a Universal Credit claimant	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
10. how to manage money on a monthly basis.	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
