2. taking part in a group discussion about the youth club or project

4. taking part in discussions and meetings with the youth club leader or project leader and the staff team

5. taking part in a brief and debrief session, before and after each session, with the supervisor or project leader

demonstrated the ability to

6. arrive punctually for the placement at a specified time

7. help set up the youth club or project ready for the session

8. assist in the planning of activities or support a young person in identifying particular needs, eg using job search programmes, skills development

9. act as a reliable peer leader and role model

10. identify at least three good communication skills

11. identify at least three strengths and three areas for development

12. keep a learning log and record of sessions and evaluate these weekly with the youth leader or project lead worker

13. evaluate own overall learning experience at the end of the placement, and provide at least three written recommendations to the youth club leader or project leader for discussion

14. identify and discuss at least two personal interests and how these can transfer to a voluntary placement

shown knowledge of

15. three basic health and safety regulations, eg absence procedures, lone working, appropriate behaviour

16. at least two basic policies, eg child protection, equal opportunities

17. at least three health and safety procedures, eg what to do in a fire evacuation, where the first aid box is located and own responsibilities in the event of an emergency

18. how to undertake a basic risk assessment whilst undertaking activities or sessions.
