Course summary

This AQA training course will focus on the practical skills and research methods that underpin the GCSE Psychology exams. You will explore the expectation that students undertake practical work throughout the course and examine how these skills are assessed, with a particular emphasis on ‘design a study’ questions. Drawing on recent Examiner Reports and a range of student responses, the session will help you develop a clearer understanding of common strengths and pitfalls in this area.

You will also have the opportunity to apply AQA mark schemes to practical-skills-based questions, including design-a-study items and selected research methods questions.

To maximise your engagement with this course, we strongly recommend reviewing the pre-event reading, which includes key extracts from relevant mark schemes.
