In successfully completing this unit, the learner will have	Evidence needed
shown knowledge of 1. the main characteristics of at least five different musical genres	Summary sheet and/or student completed work

3. the instrumentations associated with each of these genres	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
4. the lives of at least three famous musicians or composers, each associated with one of these genres	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
5. the key links between a famous piece of music and the social and historical conditions under which it was written	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
experienced 6. listening to examples of music illustrating at least five different genres	Summary sheet
7. take part in a discussion in which the group compares at least three different pieces of music of different genres.	Summary sheet
