5. find the first beat of a first bar, known as 'the one'

6. count a tune's beats and drop the one in time with another first beat of a bar

7. use speeding and slowing techniques to match the tunes together, with assistance if required

8. bring in and play the two mixed tunes

9. fade a tune out over two bars to finish a mix

10. use a stop cut to finish a mix

11. use a spin back to finish a mix

12. use cutting techniques when mixing

13. request a tutor to record him/herself mixing for ten minutes

14. request a copy of the recorded mix to be recorded to a CD
