Question paper security

Question paper security

Ensuring that exam question papers stay secure and uncompromised is one of the most important parts of the Exams Officer role.

The General Regulations have been produced to ensure that the integrity and security of the examination/assessment system is always maintained.

The JCQ offers a useful guide for checking your secure storage to make sure that it meets regulations and standards.

The General Regulations ask for centres to be permanently manned between 8:30am – 3:30pmMonday to Friday to accept question paper deliveries. You can use this infographic created by the JCQ to support receiving exam papers within your centre.

This process is further supported by exam logs and forms that you should use within your centre. They should also be available during your centre inspection:

  • The Exam Material Receipt Log - Point of Delivery, for when materials first arrive at your centre
  • The Exam Material Receipt Log- Exams Officer, for when the Exams Officer takes control of the materials
  • Second Pair of Eyes check form, to be used at the point question papers are being removed from secure storage and opened.
