MUSIC: INSTRUMENTS AND COMPOSITION

Level: Entry Level

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will have	Evidence needed
shown knowledge of 1. the main ways that instruments, eg percussion, strings, aerophones, produce sound	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
experienced 2. playing at least three different instruments	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
3. experimenting with changing the sound of at least one instrument	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
4. using instruments to improvise at least one of their own simple compositions	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
5. using technology to record and repeat units of composition on at least one occasion	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
6. using technology to overdub onto their compositions, making multi-tracks.	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
experienced 7. applying their knowledge of simple notation to their compositional pieces	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
